  • Due to the inclement weather expected this afternoon (1/21)  we are going to postpone the 9th grade Yorktown AP Scholars Meeting till tomorrow.
     
    9th and 10th grade Yorktown AP Scholars Meetings will be held tomorrow - Thursday, January 22nd, at 3:15, in the cafeteria.

  • Students, please go to http://goo.gl/forms/pEMT1ZctwF to complete a 5-10 minute survey on schedule options, including keeping our current schedule, for next year. We hope to have input from everyone as we move forward in this process. While you will be asked to sign in to Google@APS, individual responses will be anonymous except by grade level to help us look at trends by curricular areas. The survey will end on January 27, 2015.

  • nodtohistory Congratulations to Yorktown Junior Tommy Casey, who is a finalist in the Arlington County Decal contest! The winner's design will appear on every vehicle registered in Arlington County next year.

    All residents of Arlington are eligible to vote, so click here to vote for "A Nod to History," and support Tommy! The second radio button down is the correct vote for "A Nod to History," which pictures 800 Glebe Road, the building erected in Ballston on the site of the former Bob Peck Chevrolet dealership.

  • Yorktown High School to host Essentially Ellington Jazz Festival

    Saturday, January 24, in collaboration with Jazz at Lincoln Center, Yorktown High School will host its 2nd Annual Jazz Festival showcasing the music of Duke Ellington and other seminal composers of the Big Band Era. The festival will feature 11 area jazz ensembles with the first performance beginning at 1:00 pm. The U.S. Army Blues Jazz Ensemble will headline the event with a 6:30 pm concert in the Yorktown High School auditorium. This festival is free and open to the public. http://apsva.us/Page/28644

    United States Navy Band Concert at Yorktown High School

    Saturday, January 31, The United States Navy Band will present a concert at Yorktown High School at 7 pm. They will be honoring veterans at this concert. The concert is FREE, open to the public and no tickets are required.  Any questions can be directed to the Navy Band Public Affairs Office at NavyBand.Public.Affairs@navy.mil or by calling (202) 433-4777.
