For Parents

In response to discussions with staff and School Board members regarding middle school design and the implementation of a staff course related to early adolescent development, a three part series on early adolescent development was offered to parents through the Parent Academy. This series used materials from the staff course that were tailored to parents and focused on specific strategies parents could use to navigate through this time of change in the lives of their children.

Attached are pdfs of the three presentations as part of the three-session series Early Adolescent Development: A Series for Parents. The three sessions were:

o            Physical Development in Early Adolescents

o            Cognitive Development in Early Adolescents

o           Emotional/Social/Identity Development in Early Adolescents
