  • Mental Health Mental Health Awareness Month
There are various staff members at each school who are trained to recognize and respond to mental health concerns. School counselors can address barriers and assess ways to maximize students’ success in schools, communities and their family structure by offering education, prevention, and crisis intervention until the student is connected with community resources. School Psychologists are licensed professionals with specialized training in child psychology, learning, development and assessment. They are skilled in linking mental health to learning and behavior. School Social Workers are licensed professionals that have expertise in mental health issues. They facilitate communication between the home and school and serve as liaison to various community agencies. Attendance Specialists and Substance Abuse Counselors are available at the secondary level to support students and their families. Please join the conversation using hashtag #BeAwareCare.
