APS hosts several events in the fall for parents to help their child(ren) succeed in the next phase of their academic or post academic career.  Mon, Nov. 3 - Middle School Information Night (#MSInfoNight). Videos of both Montessori Information Night and High School Information Night have been posted online for families that were not able to attend. This fall, APS will host a series of community workshops and provide other engagement opportunities on upcoming capital planning efforts. Watch the CIP-TV recaps of previous meetings to learn more about the capacity challenges at APS. APS Snapshots Snapshots Features Randolph’s Battle of the Books

In this week’s episode, Snapshots showcases Randolph Elementary School’s First Annual Battle of the Books that took place earlier this month. Students received seven books to read over the summer, then joined teams in September and practiced with a coach for three weeks before a competition to see who knew more about the books. (More)
 

Green Scene Washington-Lee High School’s Chesapeake Bay Trip Featured on Green Scene

This week’s episode of Green Scene highlights Washington-Lee High School’s recent field trip to learn about the Chesapeake Bay watershed. The trip, sponsored by a partnership with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, provides students an opportunity learn about the importance of the watershed and how to help protect the resource. While on the trip students sampled the water, learned about the wildlife and fish that are found in the rivers that make up the watershed and how pollution from run-off affects the habitat.   (More
