McKinley Elementary is a neighborhood public school nestled within a friendly suburb of Arlington, Virginia. It is a school where staff, families and neighbors in our community work collaboratively to provide an enriching educational experience for its students. The school's strong instructional programs and the use of a variety of contemporary instructional strategies that are based on current research have produced successful student learners. Each student in our diverse population is provided an engaging, challenging and dynamic educational program. It strives to be a nurturing program that stimulates intellectual curiosity, encourages critical and creative thinking and culminates in academic achievement. Further, it aims to develop cooperative interpersonal skills while cultivating respect for individual differences.
McKinley students enjoy many activities through curricular and extracurricular activities. Unique initiatives include our Children's Theater, the Peacemakers Program, an extensive offering of after-school enrichment courses sponsored by the PTA, a highly acclaimed science fair and an exemplary outdoor education program.
