Knights Take Note Week

Welcome to 2014 Knights Take Note! Musical Week!!

For the eighth year, Nottingham Elementary PTA's music education program, Music Masters, is coordinating Knights Take Note! This is an extraordinary event dedicated to enriching Nottingham's appreciation of music. This year's Knights Take Note! week is taking place on Feb 10-14, 2014, and the theme is American Musical Melting Pot, featuring musical traditions throughout the US and an assembly by the fantastic Dixie Power Trio!  
 

Parents and guardians: We can use your help in making the week a success!  Would you like to share the joy of music making with the students?  Ready to relive your high-school rock band stardom?  Can you capture the excitement of music on camera? Nottingham Jams: a.k.a. “Parent Teacher Concert”

Tuesday, 2/11, 11am-1:15pm

·       A Call to all teachers and parents for the popular lunchtime Nottingham Jams!  If you play an instrument or sing, we would love to hear you perform during the lunch hour

“Open-mic Knight" for students Grades 2-5

NEW DATE: Thursday, 3/20, 6:30-8pm.

·      Students who play an instrument or sing are invited to sign up to showcase their music-making in a casual, relaxed setting, hot chocolate served!  All are invited to attend!  Please sign up for one of the 25 available slots by following the link below.  Sign up early!

Interactive Assembly by Dixie Power Trio

NEW DATE: Friday morning, 3/14/2014.

The Dixie Power Trio is a four-piece group dedicated to the music and sounds of Louisiana. In a typical set the DPT will play a gumbo of different styles including zydeco, Cajun, New Orleans jazz, funk, street parade, and rock. The songs are a mix of Louisiana-flavored originals and covers—all with a unique, happy-go-lucky attitude.

In addition to these events, we will have musical dedications to Nottingham teachers and staff during morning announcement and additional in-class Music Masters lessons to make it a fun celebration of music.
