Club de Madres or Wednesday Morning Moms Club

El club de Madres, or Wednesday Morning Moms is a parent support group for Spanish-speaking moms at Randolph Elementary School.  The club is run by Jackie Garcia, Bilingual Resource Assistant.  Launched in September 2003, the main goal of this group is to welcome Spanish-speaking parents into our school and to increase their participation in school activities.

Club de madres meets every Wednesday morning at 8:25 a.m. in the school building.  For about two hours, over coffee and pastries, the group shares information about activities that are going on in the school.  They discuss essential topics that effect them as parents, and occasionally hold basic English classes.  They often have guest speakers at their meetings who are invited to discuss important home, school and community issues.

Meeting topics and guest speakers cover many areas of interest.  Examples are listed below:
