Vocal and Instrumental Music Education is an integral part of the curriculum at Taylor Elementary School. Students begin their music instruction in kindergarten and continue through 5th grade. We strive for students to learn and experience all aspects of music, such as singing, playing, moving, reading, listening, analyzing, creating, editing and performing.
At Taylor, we have a 4th and 5th grade chorus that rehearses weekly during the school day and performs throughout the school year. Students in both grades have the option to participate in instrumental music instruction. Band and Orchestra members are taught playing techniques and well as important ensemble skills. Fourth grade also performs a muscial annually that all fourth graders are involved in. Lastly, Taylor is pioneering a ukulele program for 4th and 5th grade students.
