WakefieldSports/Activities Fair
Thursday, May 29 2014 – 7:00 PM in Town Hall

 

Hello NEW WAKEFIELD WARRIORS & WELCOME -- Please markyour calendar and bring your rising 8th/9th gradestudents (designated to attendWakefield) to our Sports/Activities Fair on Thursday, May 29th at 7pm inTown Hall at the new Wakefield High School.  Sport coaches andextracurricular groups (Fencing, Chieftain, J Club, FBLA, Yearbook, EbonyQueens, Interact Club, and more) will fill town hall and parent/students cangather information about groups to join in the fall and throughout the year.

 

*Note 8th graders at middle schools (with Wakefield designated as their highschool) can also play "up" in the fall and spring of their 8th gradeyear on high school JV level team not offered in middle school (Fr. Football,Cross-country, field hockey, softball, baseball, lacrosse, and crew). 

 

Please consider attending; meeting staff and students.  Thenight is relaxing; students and parents can walk around and meet and greetcoaches and club sponsors, gather information, and then get first-handinformation from some of our current students about their experiences insports/clubs at a 20-minute overview in the auditorium.

 

The Wakefield Boosters will also be there selling t-shirts and other Wakefield schoolspirit wear, car magnets, etc.  The Physical Education departmentwill also have a table with information about PE uniforms, locker rooms, etc.

 

**FALL SPORTS START PRACTICING ON AUGUST 4th – So you will want to make sure you understand the VHSLeligibility rules, when to get a physical, medical insurance, what the role ofthe certified athletic trainer is, concussion testing, and more!  Hope tosee you there!

LATE BUS INFO 

 
Late busses depart at 4:21 from the gold commons.  Students must be participating in a school sanctioned activity to ride the late busses home.  Late bus routes/stops were handed out at lunch on Friday, Sept. 6th.  Nearly all stops that are provided by regular am/pm busses are covered by late bus stops.  Please have your student see Mr. Siegel with late bus questions.  Alternatively, you can call 703-228-5904 or email jeremy.siegel@apsva.us with late bus questions.  For security reasons a list of late bus stops is not provided online.
