Good Morning Swanson! Today is Thursday, April 24th and these are your morning announcements:
Good luck to the Track and Swim teams who are both in action this afternoon! The track team heads to Gunston, and the Swim team looks to finish up their strong season at today's county championships at Wakefield. Come out and support your Admirals!
Have you checked out the latest additions to Wavelength's Online Magazine? Find the link on Swanson's homepage to view eye-catching art and creative writing today!
We know you're writing and new submissions are welcome, especially in honor of National Poetry Month. Submit your work by sharing a Googledoc with Mrs. McFarlane or bring it to room 232 for a chance to be published.
Don't forget: The Environmental STAR's Door decorating contest has been extended until the end of the day Wednesday, April 30th. Submit your poetry about the environment by Monday.
Reminder to the track team to check the track board daily for important meet and practice information. The last regular season meet is next Tuesday, so you need to be paying attention to track board sign ups or you will miss your opportunity. For students who were scheduled in the rained out Tuesday meet, you are at risk of losing your spot in the rescheduled meet on Monday if you do not sign off as requested on the track board by the end of school today (TH).
Builders Club will meet not this Thursday, as Ms. Meier has a meeting. We will be meeting on May 1st in room 260 after school to start planting.
Attention all 6th grade students. This Thursday, we are welcoming APS 5th graders to Swanson Middle School. If you are serving as an orientation guide today, Tuesday, April 22, please report to the auditorium at 9 am. If you are serving on the 6th grade panel, please report to the auditorium at 11:20 am.
The talent show will be on June 13th. If you want to find out more, plan to come to the meeting NEXT Wednesday after school in the auditorium.
Coming up this week!
