Good morning Swanson! Today is Tuesday, September 30th, and these are your morning announcements:

Both the Boys Soccer and Tennis teams are in action this afternoon. The Boys Soccer team hosts Williamsburg, while the Tennis team heads to Kenmore. Come out and support your Admirals!
Interested in trying out for the Cheerleading team? Come to the tryouts rehearsals today after school in the small gym. Bring comfortable shoes, clothes you can move around in, and a water bottle if you have one!
Wavelength, Swanson's literary magazine committee, will meet in Ms. McFarlane's room today after school. Both laptops and art supplies will be available for writers and illustrators. All interested students are welcome!
Ultimate Frisbee will begin this Thursday from 2:45 to 4pm at the Westover Library/Reed School fields. Wear sneaker or cleats, bring a water bottle, and get ready to run and have fun!
Minecraft club meets today after school in room 132, Ms. Williams room!
It's that time of year again! The weather is cool, leaves are changing, and TSA is BACK! Any Technology Education student is welcome to attend the 1st meeting of the year on Thursday October 2, 2014. The TSA meeting is held in the Technology Education lab, room 126, from 2:30-3:30 PM with Mr. DeMarino to begin discussions of student registration and officer positions.
Yoga will begin THIS THURSDAY OCT. 2 from 2:30-3:30 in room 130 :) No experience necessary!
Calling all Artists and Crafters! Swanson is home to the annual Spring Fling Arts and Crafts show to be held next year on Saturday, March 14, 2015. The Spring Fling is looking for a few more artists and crafters to participate in the 2015 show. If you are interested, or know someone local who might want to display in our show, please contact Karen Hancox at hancoxk@gmail.com. We have a number of vendors already signed up for next year's show, but still have room for more great artists and crafters. But please don’t wait too long; space is limited (to the large and small gyms). And please note, this is a juried show so serious vendors only, please. The booth fee is $100. Spring Fling is Swanson’s single largest fundraiser and money raised is used to fund teacher's grants and other important PTA sponsored activities. Please look for more information about how to support Swanson’s 2015 Spring Fling in the coming months.
Applications for Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology are now available on Thomas Jefferson’s website. In order to apply for Thomas Jefferson, you must be an 8th grade student enrolled in Algebra 1, Algebra 1 intensified or Geometry Intensified.

Swanson will be holding an information session about Thomas Jefferson on October 7th at 8:15 AM. If you are interested in attending, please sign up in the counseling office by Friday, October 3rd. Students are strongly encouraged to start the application before the information session. Complete applications are due to Thomas Jefferson by October 17th.
