The Wakefield Music Parents Association (WMPA) supports the Wakefield High School band, orchestra and chorusand helps maintain Wakefield's tradition of music excellence. WMPA includes parents of band, orchestra and choral students at Wakefield High School. WMPA is run by a volunteer board and committee chairs in close coordination with the Wakefield High School Music Directors. WMPA meets monthly.
WMPA supports the many activities of the Wakefield High School Music Programs through volunteer support (concert dress fittings, chaperoning, pit crew for marching band) and through fundraising. WMPA raises funds through an annual Tag Day neighborhood fundraiser, concession stands at sports events, bake sales at concerts, and working with local businesses. WMPA also reaches out to the Arlington County community, ensuring that schools, civic associations, churches, senior homes and others are invited to the many free concerts at Wakefield High School.
