The Abingdon Band meets twice a week for 45-minute lessons as part of Project GIFT. All 4th and 5th graders play instruments; 4th graders learn the violin and 5th graders may choose to continue in orchestra or begin a band instrument. Students may study one of the following band instruments: flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, and percussion.
Arlington Public Schools continues to provide instrumental instruction as part of the middle school curriculum. Please contact your child's middle school band teacher or 6th grade counselor for more information.
