Beginning on Wednesday, January 28th, training staff from the YMCA of Arlington will be coming to Jefferson to provide after school cardio/body strengthening exercise sessions for interested students. This has been initiated specifically to provide a starting point for students who want or need to lose weight for health purposes, as well as those students who want to begin readying themselves for spring sports. As with nearly all after school activities, this will be provided at no cost to Jefferson students.
As part of this pilot program sessions will be held on a once weekly basis on Wednesdays from 2:30p - 4:15p in the gymnasium. The number of weekly sessions will increase if there is a high level of interest and participation from Jefferson’s students.
Students will be able to ride the late buses home after participating in this program.
If your student is interested in being a part of this endeavor please have them return their completed permissions slips (follow link below) to me by Tuesday, January 27th.
