 Welcome to Visual Art!

Marel Sitron and Frank Altamirano

Barcroft’s Visual Art Program integrates the art content of instruction and skills, art media, artists, art history, and aesthetics into the big ideas of the core curriculum. The big ideas of the core curriculum are a thematic approach related to the Virginia SOL's and Arlington Counties Gifted Program. This framework is a guideline for an art program that combines art instruction with creative problem solving and exploration. The focus is to provide opportunities to develop critical thinking skills.
