Hi, my name is Natalie Rigert. My wonderful husband, Jake, and I moved to Arlington in April from the Chicago suburbs. Originally, I am from Bettendorf, Iowa. I attended the University of Iowa - go Hawks! I majored in elementary education with specializations in literacy and couldn’t wait to begin teaching. I was a substitute teacher in Iowa for a year and a half where I was able to experience and appreciate ALL grade levels. Afterwards, I moved to Naperville, Illinois where I taught kindergarten for two years. This past year I taught first grade. I enjoy reading, cooking, traveling, and hiking. I am thrilled to be part of the third grade team here at Barrett! This will be an exciting year filled with learning, adventure, and fun!

My name is Deborah Chu. I graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor's in American Studies and a Master's in Elementary Education in 2009. After graduating I spent a year teaching English in Taiwan through the Fulbright program. Upon returning to Virginia I taught ESOL at a junior high school in Woodbridge, VA before joining the Barrett ESOL/HILT team in 2011. I enjoy reading, taking pictures, eating, cooking, exploring DC, and running with students on Fridays with the Barrett Runners Club. I'm excited to continue working with Barrett students as a 3rd grade teacher. I am also looking forward to a great year teaching and learning with Barrett students!
My name is Brendan Crowley. I recently relocated to Arlington, VA from Syracuse, NY, and I'm enjoying getting to know the area as I explore all that Arlington and DC have to offer! I graduated from SUNY Geneseo with my Bachelors degree in Childhood/Special Education, and my Masters degree in Reading & Literacy. In the past I have coached and played lacrosse, and I enjoy many outdoor activities such as running, biking, swimming, and sporting events. I am so excited to begin teaching with the 3rd Grade team here at Barrett, and look forward to working with all of our wonderful students!
