Campbell has one Montessori Primary classroom for 3, 4 and 5 year-olds. Children ages 3 and 4 from the South Arlington school boundaries may apply. Preference is given to siblings of current Campbell students.  Montessori for elementary age children is offered at the Drew Model School.

Overview

The program follows the Montessori method of teaching young children. It helps children learn:

• language enrichment
• reading skills

For Whom

• Children must be 3-years-old on or before September 30 and be toilet trained to enter the Montessori program.
• Children may enter at age 3 or 4. (Entry at age 5 requires previous Montessori experience.)

The class consists of 20 students with one Montessori-certified teacher and a teaching assistant. 

The Class is a full-day program and operates during regular school hours. Only Campbell has extended day for 3 and 4-year-olds. All schools offer extended day for kindergarten age children.

Application

Application forms should be submitted between February 2 and April 15. A lottery will be conducted if there are more applications than available spaces. Parents will be notified of their child's status by mail.

Transportation
Children age 3 and older that live within the attendance zone of the school can ride the bus, if eligible. 

Cost
Tuition for three-and four-year-old children is charged on a sliding fee schedule based on family income. No tuition is charged for 4-year-old children who qualify for the Free and Reduced Lunch program. There is no tuition charged for children who are kindergartners.

When
Montessori is a full day, five days a week program. School holidays follow the Arlington Public School's calendar. Parent-Teacher conferences are identified on the Campbell School Calendar.
