First Grade || Primer Grado

  • delgadillo Sra. Claudia Delgadillo
    claudia.delgadillo@apsva.us

    I was born and raised in Galesburg, Illinois and attended MacMurray College for my BS degree in Elementary Education and received my MS degree from Rockford College. After teaching first grade in Galesburg for 8 years, I moved to Arlington with my husband who serves in the Army and am looking forward to my fourth year at Claremont. I love teaching first grade, I always look forward to seeing how much my students grow! In my free time, I love to quilt, stamp and travel!

    Since elementary school, I always knew that I wanted to become a teacher. The teaching profession allows me do what I love most: helping children learn new things and discover their interests and talents. I have an undergraduate degree in the humanities from Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Indiana, and a graduate degree in teaching and learning from DePaul University in Chicago. Before moving back to Northern Virginia where I grew up, I taught in the Illinois area for ten years. Some of my favorite things to do other than teaching are gardening, traveling, swimming, and reading.

    I am a graduate of Roanoke College and have had the privilege to teach grades K-4 in public and private schools. I enjoy providing a positive avenue for children to express themselves and grow as confident learners. When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
