News from Mrs. Nagle’s Class
It is hard to believe we have completed two full weeks of school! We have been working hard to establish rules and routines for the classroom. We have also been completing the beginning of the year assessments and I will share this information with you at Parent/Teacher conferences. In Social Studies we have been learning about how our government works and what each branch is responsible for. Children have been working on a poem about themselves during Writing. In Reading, they are learning how to choose “just right” books and how to respond to what they have read. We are practicing addition, and subtraction facts in Math, and reviewing place value.
Children should be bringing home their assignment notebooks and homework folders every evening. They have homework Monday through Friday nights and should be reading at least 20 minutes per night. Please be sure to check the homework assignment book and initial each night.
Thank you for sending back all of the forms and information that has been sent home. If you have not returned all the paperwork from the first day packets please do so immediately. Parent/Teacher conference forms will come home on Monday and you are asked to send them back by Wednesday if possible. I look forward to seeing you at Back to School Night!
