This week, students in Grade 9 and 10 will be updating their MacBook Airs in English classes this week. It is criticlal that all students have their MBAs every day, fully charged, and have backed up any files they may have. MacBooks which cannot successfully complete the SOL Test Prep process will have to be reimaged, so be sure to back them up. Click here for the presentation, if you missed it in class.
The Arlington Percussion Ensemble Festival is Tuesday, April 26 at 7:00 PM. Enjoy percussion ensemble performances by Swanson & Williamsburg Middle School, as well as Wakefield, Washington-Lee, and Yorktown High School. Concert is free and open to the public. Contact Brian Bersh with any questions.
On Saturday, April 30, in collaboration with Jazz at Lincoln Center, Yorktown High School will host its 3rd Annual Jazz Festival showcasing the music of Duke Ellington and other seminal composers of the Big Band Era. The festival will feature area jazz ensembles with the first performance beginning at 2:15 PM. The U.S. Army Blues Jazz Ensemble will headline the event with a 6:30 pm concert in the Yorktown High School auditorium. This festival is free and open to the public.
The Theatre IV One Person Shows will be held in the YHS Black Box Theatre on the following dates.
These are culminating performances of the Yorktown Theatre Program. Each Theatre IV student chooses a literary, fictional or historical character and then writes, choreographs, directs, and acts in a 30-minute show about that character. Click here for more about individual shows.
