Dear APS Families,
On Thursday, I will present my proposed FY 2025-34 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) to the School Board. The following provides more information about the proposed plan and next steps, as well as important year-end dates to keep in mind.
Proposed 2025-34 CIP: My proposed CIP for fiscal years 2025 through 2034 underscores our commitment to maintaining safe, high-quality schools and provides funding for our most crucial facilities and infrastructure projects. The proposal follows the School Board’s direction for both ongoing projects and new investments, including:
- Finalizing safety and security vestibules and kitchen renovations at all schools;
- Completing synthetic turf field replacements;
- Proceeding with the Arlington Career Center construction project;
- Prioritizing additional school roof replacements, HVAC systems, and other renovations and maintenance projects; and
- Upgrading our Stars employee resource system to improve efficiency.

Next steps in the process include CIP work sessions on May 30 and June 4, the School Board’s Proposed CIP presented for information on June 6, and a Public Hearing on June 11, followed by final adoption on June 20.
