YHS Students Wow with “Les Mis” Performance

YHS Performing Arts cast members were invited to perform a 15-minute selection of songs from their latest production, “Les Misérables,” at the May 9 School Board Meeting. The School Board and all attendees were so impressed with the performance! (Watch the video of the School Board Meeting–start at 2:15 to see the performance).

“Les Mis” was also YHS’ first-ever entry to the Cappies of the National Capital Area (a high school theatre critic and award program well-known in the area). Out of the 26 award categories the students were eligible for, they received 14 nominations, including Best Orchestra and Best Musical! They will be performing “Master of the House” (which was nominated for Best Song) on the Kennedy Center Concert Hall stage at the Cappies Gala on June 10th. Please join YHS Performing Arts in congratulating those “Les Mis” kids once again.
