Amazing Abingdon

Abingdon Elementary recently hosted “Amazing Abingdon” for the school community.  Over 400 parents and community members attended, including School Board member David Priddy, Cabinet members Chrissy Smith and Dr. Gerald Mann, and Director of Elementary Education Wendy Pilch.  Abingdon parents came in to learn about how Abingdon uses Responsive Classroom and the school’s long-term partnership with the Kennedy Center, CETA (Changing Education Through the Arts).  Parents were invited to participate in a Morning Meeting in their students’ classrooms and to see a lesson that incorporates the arts within the curriculum.  Abingdon highlighted how the foundation to student success is creating positive relationships.
