APS Announces All-District Band Results

The following students were selected for the Virginia Band and Orchestra Directors’ Association (VBODA) District 12 Honors Bands. These students are representing their schools during the All-District Band Event, which is being held at Oakton High School from Feb. 1-3.

Middle School Honors Band

  • Dorothy Hamm – Lucas Young, Michael Staren (alternate)
  • Gunston – Adam Radjou
  • HB-Woodlawn – Laurel LaGarde
  • Jefferson – Eiliyah Avendano, Nichola Yee, Liam Eberly (alternate)
  • Kenmore – Leif Young, Malcolm Burton (alternate)
  • Swanson – Nolan Russell
  • Williamsburg – Jack Beresik, Leah Kamholz, Alex Wilson, Sid Ghosh (alternate), Claire Marino (alternate)

High School Symphonic Band (2nd Senior Band)

  • HB-Woodlawn – Malia Ornelas
  • Wakefield – Nicolaus Antezana, Cyrus Beauvais (alternate)
  • Washington-Liberty – Rosalind Van Reken
  • Yorktown – Michael Discenza, Nyx Hendrey, Connor Rogers, John Settlemyer, Natalie Vipond, Lucas Bragan (alternate), Ellie Grieco (alternate), Walker Schmidt (alternate)

High School Wind Ensemble (1st Senior Band)

  • Wakefield – Landan Gallardo*
  • Washington-Liberty – Lincoln Eberly
  • Yorktown – Andrew Dillon*, Aidan Reese*, Dylan Yeo*

*Students with an asterisk next to their names are eligible to audition for the All-Virginia Band & Orchestra later in February at James Madison University.
