Superintendent’s Update: Emergency Preparedness Week

Dear APS Families,

As part of our commitment to school safety, we are kicking off our first annual APS Emergency Preparedness Week tomorrow, October 31-November 7. This is an opportunity for our community to better understand how we prepare for and respond to emergencies. During this time, we will share more information on APS emergency response efforts and our collaboration with Arlington police, fire and rescue.  We are also holding division-wide preparedness, response, and recovery training for our staff.

Watch our new APS Emergency Management and School Safety video for an overview of how APS works to maintain safe schools.  Each day this week, we will share resources and information on social media and our website to keep the community informed about how we maintain safe schools and respond in an emergency. Visit our website to learn more. Thank you for your partnership in maintaining safe school communities in APS.

Sincerely,

Dr. Francisco Durán
Superintendent
